David Beck left Liverpool University in 1977 having obtained a First Class Honours degree in English and Latin. The following year he started working for a firm which specialised in giving financial advice to graduates. In 1980 he joined Equity & Law as a broker consultant servicing the Wirral, in which role he came into regular contact with the principals of Gee & Watson. David joined the firm in April 1982 and is currently its longest serving member of staff. He is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
David has extensive experience in providing advice on a range of financial topics, but has a particular interest in advising the firm's private clients on their investment, pension and protection requirements.
David is primarily a keen football supporter but is also interested in watching many other sports, particularly cricket and tennis. He enjoys riding his motorcycle when time and weather conditions permit. David has always enjoyed rock music and in the last decade or so he has also developed an interest in classical music, especially opera.
Adrian Cleator began his career in financial services in 1978, when he joined Norwich Union as a broker consultant. He subsequently fulfilled the same role for Standard Life before joining Gee & Watson in 1988. He became a director in 1989 and was appointed Managing Director in 2002, upon the retirement of Graham Watson, the founder of the business. Adrian specialises in both personal and corporate pension planning and holds the advanced pension qualification (G60). He also advises on investment, regular savings plans and estate planning.
Adrian is a keen football supporter but enjoys many sports and, in an attempt to keep fit, he regularly rides his mountain bike throughout the year, whatever the weather.
Howard Walters started working in the financial services industry in 1993, immediately after leaving Hull University, when he obtained a degree in History.
He spent the next nine years working as a broker consultant for a number of leading insurance companies, including Norwich Union and Clerical Medical.
Howard joined Gee & Watson in 2004 and now advises both personal and corporate clients. He already holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is studying to become a Chartered Financial Planner.
Howard is married with two young boys. He has a keen interest in all sports, especially mountain biking and golf.
Jane Rendle-Barnes has been an independent financial adviser since 1986. She set up her own IFA practice in Altrincham in 1989 and sold her company after ten successful years. In 1999 Jane was recruited by a Manchester-based, multi-national financial house and stock broker to launch its financial services division.
In 2001 Jane relocated to the Wirral with her young family and began working for a local IFA. In 2004 she joined Gee & Watson and is one of the few female IFAs practicing on the Wirral. She has a wealth of experience in most areas of financial advice, including investment, protection and retirement planning. She has developed a particular expertise in advising divorcees on pension sharing.
Jane is a keen horsewoman who regularly competes in BSJA show jumping, cross country, and dressage events.
